ICKENHAM CHURCH NEWS
æëYou can help change the world this week.‰
‹Once again, more than 20,000 churches are preparing to move into action on behalf of the world's poor.æ Once again, we are mobilising a network of 300,000 people to join a movement for global justice - praying, acting and giving to bring an end to world poverty. Once again, your role is vital.Š
Dr Daleep Mukarji. Director, Christian Aid.
Last year 120 extraordinary people collected nearly £6,600 (nearly £7,200 including tax relief) from our concerned Ickenham community. This year we hope to exceed this sum by 10 per cent, but to achieve this we will need many more collectors to replace those heroes who are sadly no longer with us, to collect from roads that regrettably were not covered last year, and to collect from the Brackenbury estate that has never been covered.
There are many generous people in our Ickenham community who have love and concern for their ëbrothers or sisters‰ in the developing world - our global neighbours who are in need.æ The number one reason that people do not support a worthy charity is that they have not been asked.
Please spare just two hours of your valuable time to deliver and collect about 40 Christian Aid red envelopes to houses near your neighbourhood.
ëYou can help change the world.‰
Please phone Christian Aid Week local Coordinator, Bernard Pearce on 01895 673596 if you can help (or know of anyone else who is willing to help), or, would like to know more. The Christian Aid committee will be delighted to hear from you.
ëCome on be a hero!‰
