The next Sunday when volunteers are needed to collect patients from wards for Communion services in hospital is:æ Hillingdon Hospital,æ Sunday 1st September.
This small service is very much appreciated by patients who have no family available to help them. Anyone who is able to assist, please contact Alan Grove on 020 8868 9220.
Readers will be saddened to hear of the passing of Bernard Lee who, with his wife Connie, lived in Ickenham for 50 years before moving to Cheshire to be closer to family. Bernard died from cancer of the pancreas on 7th June just a few weeks after diagnosis.

Dear Editor
I am looking for information about my parents Cyril & Frances Bibby, who were married in Ickenham on 17th August 1937. My mother was from Ickenham. Her father was Ted Hirst. Her mother's maiden name was Sloe, and I recall seeing a stone to Grandma Sloe I think in front of the Post Office in Ickenham about 1982. The stone was beside a parking lot, I recall - not in a graveyard. (She must have died around 1932, when my mother was aged just 18, and
I believe she was cremated not buried.
