If you live in Ickenham, go to school or church in Ickenham and are aged 7 to 11, then Ickenham Churches Junior Holiday Club is where you need to be on 21st July until 25th July from 10 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday and 2 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.æ Monday to Thursday. The Grand Finale is at 7.30 p.m. on Friday.
It's amazing how many Bible stories involve food! At
Holiday Club this year we shall be hearing stories about fruit, manna (what's
that?), fish, bread and wine. More importantly, these stories give us food
for thought - they will help us understand what God, in Jesus, has done
for us, and what difference he can make to our lives. We are sure you
will have fun as we sing songs, make models, create clever crafts, and play
great games throughout the week!

WELCOME TO ADRIAN GUTHRIE AND FAMILY

When I completed my five week placement at St. Giles‰ in
July last year I had no idea, that a month later, I would be opening a letter
from the Bishop inviting me to consider coming back as Curate! Having
completed my theological training, I will be ordained at St Paul‰s Cathedral on
July 5th, and we‰re now delighted to be moving to Ickenham this
Summer.
We‰ve only moved four stations along the tube, so we haven‰t strayed far from
Rayners Lane where we lived for 21 years. Both Juliette and I are local
and even attended the same primary school in Stanmore. It wasn‰t until we
met at Emmanuel Church, Northwood that we discovered our common heritage.
Our three children all attend Bishop Ramsey and Adam and Jo are no
strangers to Ickenham, being actively involved in Hillingdon Music School
events at the Compass Theatre.
Prior to my training at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford, I worked as a Division
Manager at Harrow College.

Having taught Design and Technology, I began by managing the
Art and Design Department, broadening out to include adult education later.
ëWhy give up your career‰, you may ask? Well, as a Christian,
I aim to serve God in all that I do, and becoming a Curate is the next step of
that journey of following Jesus Christ. God began to nudge me about
ordination a long time ago, and when I realised that it was something I really
wanted to do, it wasn‰t difficult to make the decision. Churches still have a
vital role to play in revealing God‰s love to people, so I‰m looking forward to
being part of that process in Ickenham.

St.Giles‰ Church Hall, 2 to 3.30 p.m. A friendly, informal opportunity for a chat, over a cup of tea, with other bereaved people and pastoral visitors.æ The next meeting is Monday 21st July (also Monday 18th August).
