ICKENHAM CHURCH NEWS

December 2003

Amidst the winter‰s ice and chill,

Remember Jesus lying still,

His bed a crib in stable bare,

Just Mary, Joseph and animals there.

There was but one dazzling star

That brought those travellers from afar.

Simple shepherds who left their sheep,

Kings of royal lineage deep.

But you, dear Lord, who came for all,

Those who succeed and those who fall,

Help us all to turn to You,

This Christmas and the whole year through.æ Amen.

CAROLS FOR THE FAMILY

As usual we shall be having our informal gathering in St Giles' Church at both 3 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Christmas Eve for Carols for the Family.  Come and hear the familiar words of the Christmas story and sing some carols as we build up our Crib scene in the sanctuary.  Both services are always full and that is why we have to issue tickets, which are free.  They will be available at the Family Service at 9 45 a.m. on 7thæ December and thereafter (but not before!) by telephoning 622970.
