TREK MOROCCO 2005
Malcolm Trudgeon of Burnham Avenue Ickenham is taking part in this years Breast Cancer Care "Trek Morocco" - 10th to 18th October.
Malcolm has pledged to raise a total of £2,500 for the charity by walking across a large section of the Atlas Mountains where on the final day he reaches a height of over 2,000 metres. The whole journey will be made with the help of Berber Guides and sleeping under canvas at night. All this at the tender age of 63.
Many of you in the village will have known his wife Pat who worked in Ickenham Library. Sadly, Pat died of breast cancer in June 2004. After her diagnosis the services of Breast Cancer Care were of great help to them both and Malcolm now wants to show his support for this most helpful charity.
Please show your support by a donation of as much as you can afford. Donations can be handed in at Ickenham Library or sent/given to Malcolm at 46 Burnham Avenue. Any cheques should be made out to "Breast Cancer Care".

HOSPITAL COMMUNION SERVICES 2005
More Volunteers needed urgently
The next Sunday when volunteers are needed to collect patients from wards for Communion services in the hospital chapel is: Hillingdon Hospital on Sunday 17th July and Mount Vernon Hospital on Sunday 28th August. More dates will be published in future months. This small service is very much appreciated by patients who have no family available to help them. To continue this service we need to supplement our regular team with more volunteers to provide cover for unavoidable absences. Anyone who is prepared to spend a couple of hours on occasional Sunday mornings, please contact Alan Grove on 020 8868 9220.
The next in this series of very interesting talks, and well attended breakfasts, is on Saturday 16th July in the United Reformed Church Hall starting at 8.30 a.m. The title of the talk is Are We Ready and is given by Roger Murphy who is an Associate Evangelist with Through Faith Missions.
We hope to see you there. Tickets are £2, which covers the cost of a continental breakfast, from Don Gwilt on 01895 673704.
