YOUTH PROJECT UPDATE

I thought it would be good to use ICN to bring you up to date with what we are doing.

At present, the young people are having Sunday afternoon sessions.  Sessions are for ages 11-16 till the end of March; this month they will be held at St. Giles' Church Hall on March 6th and March 20th and at St. Mary's Church Hall, Harefield on March 13th and March 27th.  The sessions are from 3pm -4:30pm, they may differ from week to week and could include activities, games, food, films, trips, and great conversations!

If you would like more information about what we are doing or would like to see how you can assist with the project, you can contact me, James Wood, via e-mail: james.youthworker@gmail.com or on 07772 111295.

CHRISTIAN AID LUNCH REVELRY

The monthly Christian Aid lunches are always enjoyable occasions, but even more so last month, when Christian Aid stalwart Alfred Moon was surprised to be reunited with four old friends, all Sunday School pupils of his at the URC some 60 years ago!  He tells us:

“Four apparently respectable ladies and I were witnessed behaving in a state of excitement, delight, affection and reminiscence (though nothing stronger than water was being served.)  The ladies were Jill and Gay, daughters of regular luncher Babs Browning; Anne Corbett (nee Brown) and Janet Sorenson.  Janet is a native of Ickenham, but the other three had travelled some distance for this surprise reunion.  We celebrated royally, so apologies to the other more well behaved lunchers for the interruption of their meal.”

The next Christian Aid lunch is on Friday 11th March, between 12 noon and 1pm at the URC.  Why not come along and help raise funds for this worthy cause?  Hopefully Alfred will be on his best behaviour this time!
