SERVICE OF HEALING AND PRAYER

Have you ever wanted to ask for God’s help with a problem (physical or other) for yourself, or a friend or family member?

St Giles’ Church has arranged a special service to let you do just that on Sunday 22nd May from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

• With music and prayers
• Hear how God answers prayer
• An opportunity to pray with one of our prayer ministers for yourself or someone else
• Or to simply sit quietly and be with God in your own way

Come celebrate Christ’s healing work in our lives; see what God’s love can do for you.

FULL HOUSE FOR RESIDENTS’ AGM

The AGM of the Ickenham Residents’ Association’s last month filled the Village Hall as usual, when it was attended by 150 residents and Councillors.  Tributes were paid to Rachel Moore, who was moving out of the district, having been the Association’s Chairman for over three years and contributing greatly to the role in that time.  The meeting unanimously voted in new Chairman, Humphrey Tizard (pictured). 

Hillingdon Council Leader Ray Puddifoot praised the Association as one of the most efficient he deals with.  He also encouraged members to consider the proposed HS2 High Speed Rail project and to respond to the Government with their comments.  The Council’s views are set out on their website at www.hillingdon.gov.uk.  Further details can be found on the Residents’ Association website at www.ickenhamresidents.co.uk.

NO NEED FOR PAULA TO WORRY!

Ms Radcliffe’s chance of a place in the British Olympic Squad is not under too much threat, but we are pleased to report that ICN Editor Heather Piper made it through the London Marathon in one piece!  (see last month’s ICN)

Despite the high temperature, Heather really enjoyed the day.  “The camaraderie between runners, and the support of the spectators was amazing”, she said.  Heather would like to pass on her thanks to all those in Ickenham who encouraged her during her training, and who sponsored her for the event.  “You have helped raise over £2600 for Cancer Research UK, well beyond my original target!”  And if anyone would like to add to that, the fundraising website is still open – just go to www.runningsponsorme.org/heatherpiper

CALLING ALL POTENTIAL BOWLERS

Two local bowling clubs are keen to attract new participants to the sport by inviting folk to ‘have a go’ at their Open Days during May.  For any of the sessions, just turn up in comfortable clothes and flat soled shoes or trainers.  All other equipment and instruction is provided.  You could be a natural!  More experienced new members are also welcome.
