 (Continued from page 1)

The afternoons saw everyone busy again either on a trip (climbing and abseiling at HOAC, rafting, bowling, skating or visiting Quasar or the Tropical Rain Forest), playing sport or working on a chosen activity.  The choice, as always, was huge!  Twenty–one different activities, each led by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable helper.

The Finale on Friday included a magnificent exhibition of work, photos and ideas.  The singing was superb - especially by Ellie who sang a solo prayer.  Thank you to everyone.

This was my last year as co-ordinator.  I have loved every minute of it.  But it’s time to hand over to a more youthful team to lead this wonderful children’s ministry to the next stage.  Gayle Metcalfe, Sarah Kershaw and Terry Blackman have taken on this role, so I am sure you will give them your support and love as they begin to plan for next year, which runs from Monday 26th – Friday 30th July.  God bless Holiday Club 2010!

FIT IN MIND AND BODY WITH THE WORKERS’ EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION!

The courses for 2009/2010 arranged by the Ruislip and Uxbridge branch of the WEA offer the usual stimulating mix of topics.

Old favourites ‘Poetry Appreciation’, ‘Introduction to IT’ and ‘Digital Photography (Photoshop)’ are joined by ‘How to Make Money in a Recession’, ‘Art History’, ‘Literature Appreciation’, ‘Charles Darwin’ ‘The Hellenistic Age’, ‘Music Appreciation’ and two activity based classes: ‘Pilates’ and ‘Gardening’.  All take place at the Compass Theatre, in Ickenham.

Enrolment week begins on Monday 21st September.  As previously, students can attend the first session of any course free of charge, to see if it is to their liking.  So come along, and try out any that catch your eye!

A brochure containing details of the courses arranged by all WEA London branches is available in local libraries and some bookshops.  For more details, contact Caroline Field on 01923 824922, Chris Hammond on 020 8995 2081, or visit our website at www.wea.org.uk
