Doubtless it was a pre-planned raid and was carried out to order.
The mess was cleared away the following morning, by the Holy Mowers, and the coping, and other stones left behind, were rescued and placed in safe keeping until English Heritage, and other interested parties, can organise and carry out the restoration.
If anyone saw anything suspicious that night, or took details of the van or lorry that must have been used to spirit away the heavy stones, then please get in touch with Uxbridge Police Station Crime Desk on the direct line 0208 2461855 , anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 or the Police on 0208 8246 1456

THE NAVE BECOMES OASIS UXBRIDGE
The Nave at St Margaret's has changed its name. We are now Oasis Uxbridge, seeking to offer rest, refreshment and renewal in a whole variety of ways for people in Uxbridge town, wherever they find themselves. Jesus said "I have come that they might have life and life in all its fullness". We are seeking to help people experience that life and discover God's transforming love in Jesus.
A core part of our work involves the coffee bar, which is open 4 hours a day, 6 days a week and welcomes thousands of people. It is staffed almost entirely by volunteers. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in the coffee bar and would welcome anyone who would like to join the team, helping out with as little as one hour a week. If interested please contact Carrie on 01895 812193.
The Art of Waiting by Wendy Bray. Published by BRF at a cost of £6.99. from all good Christian Bookshops. ISBN 184101 296 3
As you embark on the waiting period that is the Advent season, stretching to Christmas and a few days beyond, you will discover why we are asked to wait; what we should be doing while we wait, and ultimately what we are waiting for. You can begin to see how God uses our everyday waiting times to parallel the journey that is our spiritual life.

More volunteers needed urgently
The next Sunday when volunteers are needed to collect patients from wards for Communion services in the hospital chapel is: Hillingdon Hospital, Sunday 19th December and Mount Vernon on 26th December. More dates will be published in future months. This small service is very much appreciated by patients who have no family available to help them. Anyone who is able to assist, please contact Alan Grove on 020 8868 9220.
U.R.C. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
On Sunday 31st October at Ickenham U.R.C. seventy-five shoeboxes filled with gifts were dedicated at the morning service to the Operation Christmas Child Shoe-box Appeal, ready to be taken to a collection point in Hayes. From there, Samaritan's Purse International will collect the gifts and store them ready for delivery to a poor, needy or suffering child in another part of the world.
Since 1990, Operation Christmas Child, a unique project of Samaritan's Purse, has brought the joy of Christmas to more than 23 million boys and girls. Last year, Samaritan's Purse in the UK sent over 1 million gifts to children across Eastern and Central Europe.
This annual project enables caring individuals, families, schools, churches, businesses and other organisations to fill ordinary shoe-boxes with small toys, writing materials, hats and scarves and other gifts for hurting children around the world.
With the help of thousands of volunteers, Samaritan's Purse collects and processes these gift-filled boxes in its warehouses across the United Kingdom. Then, working with national churches and charities, the gifts are delivered through them to children in hospitals, orphanages, refugee camps, homeless shelters and impoverished neighbourhoods across the globe, regardless of nationality, political background or religious beliefs.
Where culturally appropriate, and again working in partnership with local people, children will also be offered a booklet of Bible stories in their own language explaining the true meaning of Christmas - God's gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.
