CHURCHES AT THE FESTIVAL

As ever, the two churches are involved throughout the Festival’s nine days. The main events are as follows:

URC Forecourt Sale

Saturday 7th June (10am – 12noon, admission free)

Plants, books, DVDs, CDs, LPs, audio cassettes, boxed games and jigsaws, bric-a-brac and games for the children.  Also home-made cakes and preserves and the usual range of refreshments.

Please bring items that you can donate to the Church on Friday 6th June, between 6pm and 8pm, or phone Richard Piper on 01895 634348 if you need them to be picked up.

United Festival Service

Sunday 8th June (9.45am, St Giles’ Church)

The congregations of both churches join together and invite the whole community to this service at the start of the Festival.

Gala Day

Saturday 14th June (Procession starts 1pm / Events in Swakeleys Grounds from 1.30pm)

In the Procession, the Churches’ Walking Group this year will be partying to celebrate Holiday Club’s 40th Birthday!  Ever been involved?  Then come and join in!

At the Churches’ Tent in Swakeleys Grounds, there will be face painting and children’s activities, Fairtrade products at our café and stall, and our main attraction: the amazing Steve Legg, Christian Escapologist (pictured above, fighting his way out of his strait-jacket!)  Steve will be performing his crazy blend of comedy, trickery, mystery and escapology in front of the Churches’ Tent at 2.15pm, and then again at 3pm.  Don’t miss it!

Open Air Service

Sunday 15th June (11.15am – Swakeleys Grounds / URC if wet)

All are warmly invited to an informal 40 minute service of thanksgiving on this, the last day of the Festival.  Please bring either rugs or chairs to sit on.  And please stay on afterwards to join in a picnic (bring your own food) and take part in games for all ages.

Could you provide the music for the service?  See the note on page 5.
