The new courses for 2008/2009 provide another stimulating programme arranged by the Ruislip and Uxbridge branch of the WEA (Workers’ Educational Association). All courses take place during the daytime at the Compass Theatre, Ickenham, from 22nd September.
Subjects include: An Introduction to Life Sciences (Mondays); Beginners Guide to the Stock Market, Ancient Mesopotamia, and 19th Century Art and Society (Tuesdays); Literature The Challenges of Change, and Current Affairs Important Events in World History (Wednesdays); Geology Maps and Scenery, and Poetry - Nature and Classical Myths (Thursdays); An Introduction to IT, and Digital Photography and Photoshop (Fridays).
Students can attend the first lesson on any WEA courses free of charge, to make sure it’s to their liking. The WEA brochure contains full details of the courses arranged by all the London branches and is now available in local libraries and bookshops.
